Trumpeter
Edinburgh

My name is Alberto Giaccone. I am a trumpet player and a chef from Italy. I am currently studying music to obtain a degree at Edinburgh College. I have been living in Edinburgh for four years. I have played the trumpet since childhood in many ensembles and orchestras, taking lessons with different teachers which sparked my passion for music. I believe I will be a good artist because my musical experience has instilled in me a profound desire to work as a professional musician, mainly as a professional trumpet player but also as a teacher and composer. Last year I decided to join Edinburgh College and I have had the pleasure to meet some fantastic tutors and colleagues with whom I work on exciting projects. Together with them, especially with my trumpet tutor Finlay Hetherington, I prepared my solo repertoire for the final recital. I was also part of many ensembles in which I had great performances. I took part in masterclasses with Sarah Willis and Steven Isserlis. I am very enthusiastic about my studies at Edinburgh College. In addition to the music course, I am currently taking private trumpet lessons with Mr Ondrej Soukup, who was the musical director of Edinburgh University Music Society (EUMS) and a member of the Royal College of Music (RCM). Recently I was successful in two trumpet auditions for Edinburgh University Music Society (EUMS) and Edinburgh University Chamber Orchestra (EUCO) I am currently playing as a principal trumpet for Edinburgh University Chamber Orchestra. I was the assistant principal trumpet for several years at the Filarmonica San Marco a group of talented amateur musicians. Recently I have created a channel uploading my musical works alongside content relating to the kitchen, my other passion. In my opinion, my strengths help me to be a very good candidate because I always put all my energy into what I am doing, working hard to achieve my goals. I love my job and spend most of my time learning and researching to further develop my knowledge and skills. I am adaptable and flexible and working as part of a large team in highly unpredictable environments has helped me to develop these skills. I never lose control in my job and like to act with care. I always reflect on how I come across and how my thoughts may be received by others. I am strict with myself but also recognise when this works against me. In these instances, I take a short break so that I can return more positive and focused. I am an active listener. I enjoy listening to people and being inspired by new ideas. I hope you will consider my application favourably and look forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Yours sincerely, Alberto Giaccone
