Chasing Comets is a professional acoustic duo that consists of singer Sigrid & guitarist Michael. The duo performs heartfelt covers of pop anthems, folk tunes and jazz standards and turns them into their own. Hailing from Oslo, Sigrid is a BIMM London graduate & solo artist, who has worked as a session singer, songwriter & producer in various projects, including alongside Crystal Fighters & Maverick Sabre. With her captivating stage presence and distinctive style, Sigrid’s vocal ranges from warm and soft to powerful and energetic, and her vocal influences vary from Frank Sinatra to Alicia Keys. Michael is a session musician and songwriter hailing from Colchester, England. He has performed and recorded with a huge number of artists, including Alison Moyet, Heather Peace, Cloves and Etaoin. Michael is comfortable in a wide range of styles on the guitar, and provides the perfect accompaniment to Sigrid’s stunning vocals. Together, the duo’s stunning vocals and gorgeous guitar work will add a touch of warmth and sophistication to any occasion.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

They love our lightheartedness, positivity and true joy for our job. Our way of making the songs into our own and delivering them with as much passion as the first time we played it. We have always been praised for our musicality as we are both high level musicians with an ear for euphony.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Between them they have performed at venues such as Royal Festival Hall, Shepherds Bush Empire, Jazz Cafe, Manchester Academy, Sydney Mardi Gras, The Cavern Club, Glastonbury Festival, Brighton Dome, Under The Bridge and VIP Southampton FC.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Joni Mitchell, Diana Krall, Amy Winehouse and Frank Sinatra.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

In an American movie, yet to be released...

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line-up is as follows: Vocals and guitar. We also provide a trio option with cajon.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £350.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 30 minutes to 1 hour before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes - we can either perform acoustically or with microphones attached to our instruments so we can move around freely.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 2m by 4m space to perform

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
