Charlotte graduated with a BMus with Honours from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2016, where she studied with Eva Stewart, Sarah Newbold and Barbara Brown. She will continue her studies at RWCMD this year on the Master of Music in Orchestral Performance course. Charlotte performs extensively as a soloist in recitals, concerts and competitions, winning prizes at Wrexham Music Festival and Chester Competitive Festival of Performing Arts. She was also a finalist in the 2016 Frank Kelleher prize for woodwind at RWCMD. She made her concerto debut in 2013 and has since peformed Mozart's Flute and Harp Concerto and Flute Concerto in G, as well as J.S Bach's Brandenburg Concerti No. 2 and 5. A keen chamber musician, Charlotte performs regularly with Hefin Flute and Harp duo. Charlotte has been a part of many RWCMD ensembles including principal flute of RWCMD Symphony Orchestra and piccolo in a recent production of Verdi's 'Falstaff' with Carlo Rizzi. Charlotte also appeared on S4C this year as principal flute in RWCMD Chamber Winds in the semi-finals of 'Band Cymru.' Outside of college, she has played principal flute with the North Wales Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Wales and was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. She continues to freelance around Wales and the North-west in amateur and semi-professional orchestras such as NEW Sinfonia and Orchestra del'Arté. Also a keen teacher, Charlotte gives tuition in flute, piano and music theory, volunteers for a Cardiff-based music charity and has co-led music workshops in schools.
