Charlie Sansom

Charlie Sansom started performing in 2009 after a life-long obsession with singing (and Michael Jackson - however, never performing his songs!) which culminated with a debut at an open mic night. Inspired by this greats such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley - Charlie was equally engrossed in R&B music performed by the likes of Craig David, George Michael, Luther Vandross and, of course, Michael Jackson. Throughout 2009/10, Charlie performed a myriad of different genres before 'finding his feet' with jazz and swing music. It was after watching a friend perform Feeling Good that Charlie got a sense of professional envy and wanted to better his friend's performance. This led to many audience members commenting that this was his calling. With the rise in popularity of Michael Buble, Charlie became one of the UK's most sought-after tribute acts reaching the number one spot on all web-searches for an entire year! After the Michael Buble tribute, Charlie wanted to carve his name out as a solo performer in his own right. Avoiding the moniker of 'Michael Buble tribute act', Charlie was able to gain a mass following with his own versions of songs amassing a huge following on Twitter of 18,000 people. Never forgetting his upbringing around R&B and soul music, Charlie turned to DJ-ing under the mentorship of renowned DJ, David Smith as well as releasing an R&B/pop flavoured EP called Tonight in 2012. Other notable releases are the Feeling Good album, White Christmas album and MASSIVE online singles My Baby Just Cares For Me and One For My Baby. Charlie released the aforementioned My Baby Just Cares For Me in 2013 to wide-acclaim, including from members of Nina Simone's family, of whom put out the most famous version in 1958. Further to this, Charlie released One For My Baby in 2014 as a stand-alone single. Both tracks can now be found on Spotify, iTunes and Apple Music. To date, Charlie's songs have been downloaded and streamed over 300,000 times all over the world. In 2015, Charlie secured a deal with famous Southend nightclub Mansion to launch his own club night. The night ran for 6 months. Spurred on by the success of the club nights and the passion for DJ-ing on the whole, Charlie focused more on his DJ work and had the privilege of running fantastic events for companies like Swatch, Blue Inc and Fat Face. In May 2018, Charlie was asked to DJ at the prestigious Bournemouth 7's Festival with his unique blend of R&B/hip-hop mixes in front of 30,000 people. The event was a major career highlight. In 2019, Charlie returned to Bournemouth 7's as well as playing at the London Stadium and doing a boat party for the world famous Pure Garage brand on the River Thames. With 2020 being a write-off, the focus is on making 2021 a year to remember.
