I play sax and sing, accompanying my singing with keys and guitar. I love to play in a range of styles and venues: from rock, pop and folk in a pub, to club classics in a cocktail bar, sensitive originals at an intimate venue, sing along nostalgia at a care home and crowd pleasers at a garden party. I can both play by ear and read sheet music so may be able to accept last minute bookings. I love playing with others and am known for my friendly and cooperative demeanour. Fully DBS checked, I can work with children as well as vulnerable and disabled people. I also hold public liability insurance. I have all my own gear including wireless sax mic so that I can roam audiences as well as PA and lights for vocal/self-accompanied performances. Music is my life! I play it, teach it, write it, lead groups who do it and of course listen to others playing it too! Nothing makes me happier than the look an audience's face when they recognise the song you've started playing and start to dance, or the little 'woop woop' you get after playing a really great lick, or even that moment where you pause and can hear a pin drop because you've truly transfixed everyone with the musical story you're telling. I've been playing music since I was younger than I can remember. Through many years of hard work, lessons, groups, workshops and exams, I achieved my Grade 8s in both classical singing and jazz saxophone in my last year of school. I went on to be awarded a first class degree in Music from the University of Bristol. I have performed in a wide variety of formats and venues. Highlights include: singing backing vocals and playing sax with Sula Mae at The Golden Lion Bristol. Singing on the main stage of Bristol Pride. Singing and playing sax as a guest for a local rock band at Riff Corner Clevedon. Playing original music and covers as a solo act at a Cabaret event at The Front Room Weston. Playing sax and singing, leading a diverse group of disabled people in learning to play new music in a workshop setting. Playing cocktail bar sax at Revolucion de Cuba Cardiff. Hosting and performing at a ukulele festival at The Half Moon London. I look forward to playing for you next!
