About Chameleon Wedding & Function Band

Great party band featuring male & female lead vocalists with bass, guitar, drums, keyboards, sax & percussion. Up to 3 hours of live music
Wedding band
Redcar
Public liability insurance of £10 million

As professional musicians our performance and recording credits features some of the most prominent names in the world of popular music and entertainment including; Sting, Rolling Stones, Tom Jones, Rick Astley, Phil Collins, Elvis Costello, Chris Rea, Scissor Sisters, Take That, Lulu, Kylie Minogue, Bee Gees, Jools Holland, Squeeze, Jonathan Ross, Peter Kay, Strictly Come Dancing, Top of the pops. We've performed at more than 2,000 weddings and are proud of the personal service we offer. We're not just a group of musicians who turn up and play a bunch of songs. We work hard to engage everyone and are keen that all of your guests go home having had a great time. From the moment we start playing until the end of the evening, there's a continuous flow of music. Whether it's our own live music, or the DJ (virtual, or otherwise) between our sets. We're happy to learn/play your chosen first dance song if you'd like us to and at no extra charge. We're happy to take your requests either before, or during the event and whilst we can't promise to play everything you ask for, if we can fit them in within our playlist and keep the dance floor full, we will. Anything we can't play live, we'll include in the playlists between our sets. On the subject of our playlist, WE DON'T WORK TO A FIXED SETLIST OF SONGS! We much prefer to watch our audience and chop/change our song selection to suit the mood in the room. If we're also looking after the music between our live sets, you can have full control over that playlist. Give us your own playlists and we'll play that, give us a list of songs you love, or simply leave it to us. Note - We're live musicians who provide a DJ service to add value to our bookings. We don't have access to every song you might expect to hear, so the more song choices you send us prior to your wedding day the better and the more likely we won't disappoint you should you ask for something we don't have in our music library.

Chameleon played at our recent wedding and they were perfect from start to finish. Great communication in the run-up, with Keith taking time to understand our wedding, guests, music tastes and other needs. Although in many ways we also let them lead through their own experience and expertise. The band absolutely smashed our first dance song which they learned from scratch, and in the specific way we wanted it played, which was a slight modification on the original. For them to be able to do that so perfectly really helped make it! The sound was great, they had our guests on the dance floor all night and their interaction was spot on. Highly recommended. Thanks again!

“From the moment they struck their first chord, this band electrified the atmosphere and set the tone for an unforgettable night. Their energy was infectious, and they had everyone on their feet from start to finish. Not only were they incredibly talented musicians, but they also knew how to read the crowd and keep the party going. The variety of songs they played catered to guests of all ages, ensuring that everyone had a blast. Our first dance to ‘You send me’ by Aretha Franklin was nothing short of magical, thanks to their beautiful rendition. Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without them, and we’re so grateful for the incredible memories they helped us create. If you want a wedding band that will exceed your expectations and leave your guests raving, look no further!”

Thank you so much for our very kind words. You're far too kind. We had a great time and you were the most lovely couple to work with. Best wishes to you both.

From start to finish chameleon were amazing. Before our wedding we had a few phone calls with Keith to discuss our first dance song, which put us at ease and nothing was a bother. They were fantastic, the repertoire of songs was outstanding and had everyone up on the dance floor all night. We would highly recommend chameleon.

We’d really like to thank all of the band of Chameleon for a fantastic music night! You really were very, very good. We heard you on Youtube initially and thought you were good, but you surpassed our expectations and so many of our guests commented on how they’d really enjoyed listening and dancing to your music. Well done!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our huge repertoire. We've literally got something to suit all tastes. We also play non stop from our first song to the very last note of our set. We vary our song choices constantly and always keep the dance floor full. With a full range of instruments, two lead vocalists and three backing vocalists, the sound we produce is very authentic.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We've played all over the UK and the venues we've attended are far too numerous to list individually.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

As professional musicians we like all styles of music and a huge range of artistes. No one artiste influences us more than another. We love Stevie Wonder as much as Oasis.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes, the singers featured in our videos are those that will attend your event. I exceptional cases (usually illness), we do have ''dep' singers. However, both our male and female colleagues have worked with us for many years and are considered part of the team.

Do you have different line-up options?

We're happy to work as a 5-piece with the exclusion of our saxophonist. Similarly, we're easily able to augment our line up to include extra brass instruments and vocalists.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We're happy to discuss any amendments to our bookings. Changes in itinerary rarely affect our performances, but we never make a fuss and try to accommodate any alterations.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes we can provide a FREE DJ service. We usually play that from our laptop, but we're equally happy to play your own playlist if you prefer.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually take 45mins to 1 hour to set up and do a quick sound check.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We don't allow out playlist to be chosen, as we don't work to a fixed set list. We prefer instead to watch our audience and chop/change songs to ensure the dance floor is kept full. That said, we are happy to take requests and will do our best to play as many of your song choices as possible throughout an evening.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, we come fully self contained wit sound and lighting. In an ideal setting a stage are of 20' x 12' would be wonderful. In reality, we've never failed to squeeze in to an available space.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We can and in the case of weddings it's usually the first dance song we focus our attention on. We're always happy to learn other songs, but can't learn lots of new material for every event we attend.
