About Celtic Confusion 3-piece Ceilidh Band

Celtic Confusion are available as a 3-piece Ceilidh Band for a dance band on a smaller budget. We are a violin & guitar with a dance caller.

Gill and John are from Dorset. We are available as a 3-piece Ceilidh Band and use a selection of dance callers depending on availability and location. All are able to teach people whether they are beginners or more competent dancers. We are friendly and approachable musicians who want you to enjoy yourselves and we respond to the mood. We use traditional sets of Irish and folk dances but do not perform Scottish Dances. To help you get your breath back in between sets, we can entertain as a Duo with a variety of tunes and vary the tempo to keep things interesting. We don't use backing tracks and provide our own PA. Please note, we don't sing songs so this is instrumental music only.

What can I say, Celtic Confusion were just amazing. We had a four piece band including the caller. Their music was superb, everyone enjoyed themselves and I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone. Thank you for helping to create a wonderful afternoon.

We booked Celtic Confusion for a party to remember my Dad and they were exceptional. Friendly, professional and went above and beyond to help us dance to their beautiful music (we weren’t naturals at it!) I fully recommend them for your event

The band was fabulous, read our group so well and chose appropriate music and dances for the makeup of the group so any of the kids who wanted to could participate. With only two instruments, fiddle and rhythm guitar, they filled the space - the great outdoors - to perfection, and the caller was perfect. Their sound system was excellent. What a wonderful evening!

Just excellent. Clear caller who was patient, kind and clear. Instrumentation excellent keeping the tempo right and smoothing out the event. All very smiley people. Perfect choice for our intimate event of 19.

We play a variety of tunes including irish traditional jigs and reels, slipjigs and waltzes. We include arrangements of celtic tunes with our own twist and find it is perfect to listen to or for dancing. The rhythm is infectious.
