About Claire

CelloUna consists of Cello + Backing Tracks. The cello is the perfect register for many songs. My songlist is developing constantly and I am happy to work with clients to source a favourite piece of music. If the backing track exists, I can arrange the song for cello. The songlist and audio gives an idea of what is possible for CelloUna. I studied at the Guildhall School of Music and my early playing included solo recitals, freelance work with London Orchestras and theatres, recordings for groups at Abbey Road (Texas + Marc Almond) and being Principal Cello of English Touring Opera. My playing work took me around the UK and the world. I then moved up to the North West and continued freelance playing and teaching. I have always been involved in background music gigs – string quartets at Covent Garden, weddings at Park Lane hotels and with the move up North working in a string quartet/trio in venues such as Arley Hall, Hoghton Tower, Mottram Hall and many more. CelloUna is a new enterprise. I enjoy ‘playing the tune’ and this is the ideal opportunity! It is also perfect for smaller spaces – or if you are limited to numbers in a venue. It would be perfect for a Wedding Ceremony, Drinks Reception, Funeral or small event. I aim to work with you to provide quality entertainment for your special occasion!

Claire was absolutely outstanding and I would recommend her to anyone! Not only did she agree to learn two new songs for our ceremony, she played with such beauty and skill that everyone was transfixed with the sound of her cello. Thank you so much Claire, you truly enhanced the magic of our special day and we can’t thank you enough!

From the minute we saw Claire play at a wedding fayre we knew we wanted her out ours and what a great decision it was. Claire is an amazing cello player and our communication with her was first class in regards to our choice of music, she has an extensive play list. Everyone commented on how it made the ceremony so special. From Lisa and I can we say thank-you so much.

We hired Claire to play Cello for our wedding. We'd seen some of the good reviews and had been personally recommended by someone we know. From the minute we made contact we were so sure we'd made the right choice. She has a large repertoire of music but was also more than willing to take requests, as she did for us. We had a small wedding and found that the solo cello was perfect. She brought everything she needed (including backing tracks) and is fully self sufficient. We picked 4 songs for the ceremony (and took her recommendation on the order of songs) and then she stayed and played for the drinks reception for a couple of hours. The guests absolutely loved it and I'd recommend her to anyone.
