About Cecily

Resident Harpist of The Waldorf, one of London’s luxury hotels, Cecily is one of the most in demand harpists in the South East.
Harpist
Camberley
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Cecily has been playing for weddings and events for over 15 years. Her repertoire is extensive, covering classical, pop, Disney, film, musicals, jazz, and more. The Waldorf hotel regularly hosts themed afternoon teas which has prompted Cecily to source new music for the genre. These have ranged from Disney’s ‘Frozen’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’ to ‘Music for the Jubilee’. The most special thing part of Cecily’s job is playing a bride down the aisle: “It’s a spine-tingling moment where the guests seem to hold their breath as one, and the sound of the harp magically floats around the room regularly bringing people to tears”. As well as playing solo for weddings and events, Cecily regularly performs on the concert stage and particularly enjoys accompanying choirs. Something to consider if you might be thinking of a church ceremony. Cecily has performed to some big names over the years, including members of the Royal family - The late Queen and Prince Philip; King Charles and The Queen Consort; and Princess Anne. Other names include Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones; Ellie Goulding; and B*witched. When it comes to venues, it doesn’t matter if you’re planning your event in a De Vere Estate or the local village pub! The harp creates a magical atmosphere and looks grand and wonderful in any setting.

I just needed to say how wonderful Cecily was from start to finish, she was amazing, so utterly talented warm and friendly. All of the guests commented how amazing she was and she really set the tone for the afternoon. I will definitely recommend her for any type of event, we feel so lucky that we managed to have her perform at our wedding.

Cecily played during our wedding ceremony and drinks reception and was utterly magical. She was a breeze to work with from start to finish and was honestly sensational on the day. We had so many comments from our guests at how beautiful her music was. We couldn’t be more thrilled that Cecily was part of our special day and we would recommend her a million times over. THANK YOU!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The variety of my repertoire and the bespoke service I offer. I've had so many reactions to playing songs by the likes of Metallica and Guns & Roses! The difference between setting a magical atmosphere for the ceremony and then a changing to a little more upbeat for the drinks is also extremely fun. I often have guests asking for their favourite songs.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Ragley Hall The Shard Goodwood Estate De Vere Beaumont Estate Tylney Hall Hotel Easthampstead Park Hotel Pennyhill Park Cain Manor Blenheim Palace The Ned The Royal Society of Arts Windsor Castle The Ritz The Savoy Royal Festival Hall Cadogan Hall Coworth Park Penshurst Place

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Ronnie Wood's son's 30th birthday party. It was very exclusive! Not harp related, but I sang at Ellie Goulding's wedding which was a who's who of A listers. A surreal day! I played at King Charles' 60th birthday at the Royal Opera House which was broadcast on BBC R3. A 'gold' dinner where golden human statues stood around me and the harp on a golden stage

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Timings change all the time and as long as I'm kept up to date then there shouldn't be any problems.

How much time do you need to set up?

I can set up extremely quickly in as little as 15 minutes, but I tend to arrive about 45-60 minutes in advance so there's plenty of time to get everything sorted.

Is the transport of your harp included in your quote?

Yes everything is included in your quotation - there are no hidden surprises.

Do you need any equipment provided to play outdoors?

I play outdoors a lot during the summer months but it's extremely important to have the following provided for me: - Shade from the sun - A flat surface to play on My harp is extremely valuable so it's important it doesn't get wet in the rain, or damaged by strong direct sunlight. Similarly, playing outside when it's too cold can cause muscle damage.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely! You can ask me to play whatever you want from my list. Equally, some clients don't like to overdo it and just let me know a genre they like, or just a few examples of their favourite songs and I can build a playlist around that.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

I can indeed. I LOVE learning new music so if there's something special you want that's not on my list then please let me know. I learn up to 5 songs included in the quoted price.
