Cathryn Lynch is a Northern Irish percussionist currently based in Birmingham, where she is a second year undergraduate studying for her BMus in Performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
Despite only being 19, Cathryn is in high demand as an orchestral percussionist after being an inaugural participant in the Ulster Orchestra Professional Experience Scheme in 2017, and making her contemporary music debut with the Hard Rain Young Artist scheme for the 2018/19 season.
She also has performed as principal with many youth orchestras and other ensembles, touring internationally with Ulster Youth Orchestra as their principal percussionist, and securing the principal position with the European Youth Brass Band in both 2018 and 2019 in The Netherlands and Switerland respectively.
Cathryn takes time out of her busy orchestral schedule to work as a soloist, performing internationally at the Lisbon International Music Festival in 2017 and the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Youth Proms in 2018.
