About Catherine

Confident, flexible, experienced violinist with a rich, warm tone. Can play as soloist or with keyboard accompaniment included in price.
Violinist
London

I am a teacher and a professional musician. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than playing the violin! I originally leant to play by the Suzuki Method which means I can play by ear. I play from the heart and love connecting with my audience. I studied at Manchester University, playing with many ensembles there including The Royal Northern College of Music. Much of my professional music work has been playing at weddings and social functions as a soloist or as first violin with the string quartet 'Kew Strings'. I also perform with the band 'Republic of Brentford' on violin and vocals. I am an experienced orchestral player, currently playing with two London amateur orchestras; 'West London Sinfonia' and 'Kew Sinfonia'. I am an extremely flexible performer and can read music or play by ear as necessary. I am friendly, approachable and relaxed. I can play whatever music you require and can play solo violin or with a pianist, accordionist or guitarist, which is included in the price quoted. I prefer not to use backing tracks as I think music is best authentic and live. Please see videos and audio to get a snapshot of my playing and get in contact to discuss your requirements. I look forward to entertaining you!

From start to finish Catherine was a dream to work with for my wedding. She offered help with suggestions on what to play and when and was flexible with location when we changed plans last minute. My guests have been commenting since on how much they loved the music. I wouldn't hesitate to book Catherine again.

Catherine really entertained the crowd with some well chosen, brilliantly played pop classics at this year's Boston Manor House Arts Market. Great fun!
