The Castlelean ceilidh band are an experienced band based in central Scotland. They blend youth, experience, energy and finesse (as well as much laughter (and banter)) to ensure that you can have a fantastic night, whether it be for a fundraiser, a private party, a wedding, or the opening night of a freshers week. The Castlelean ceilidh band also have a wide repertoire of familiar songs, suitable for any occasion. The band are well versed in walking (and talking) through dances, and regularly perform for both beginners and experienced dancers. Although based in central Scotland, the band are often on the road and have performed extensively all across Scotland, throughout England (especially Yorkshire and the Southwest - including appearing at Glastonbury in 2011). The band are fully insured and provide a full PA system.

Just wanted to send you a wee email to say that the band were amazing - it was such a brilliant evening!! We loved it and everyone thought you were guys were incredible! I could not believe how many people got up and danced, it was fantastic! It worked very well with you going round and helping everyone with the steps! The caller was fab as well! If anything we needed a bigger dance space!

We will work with you in order to, where possible, cover your favorite songs and dances

Do you have different line-up options?

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We are flexible and understand that things change. Within reason we will try to accommodate any changes.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, happy for you to provide a play list, or we can provide background music

How much time do you need to set up?

about 1hour. We will need to do a sound check also. We can be flexible to meet your and the venues timings, within reason

Do you provide a caller?

Yes, we will talk ( and demo )all dances if required

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA) included in your quote?

Yes, PA and Insurance is included, unless significant travel is required, in which case, we may ask you to provide one. However we can discuss this at booking.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, within reason - we will either learn a song or agree a suitable recording with yourself

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

big venues and small venues, Glastonbury, a barge floating down the Rhone, village halls, churches, under a tree next to a river - we have done it all!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
