Like many flute players, I started with recorder at the age of around five. Having always wanted to be flautist, I took up flute at the age of 10. I went on to study music at university and now teach and perform both flutes and singing. I’ve been playing instruments of the flute family now for around 48 years! I specialise in a wide range of flutes - I also play: piccolo, alto flute, bass flute, baroque flute, recorders of all sizes, Irish whistles and flutes, and Chinese flutes (Xiao and Dizi) I also play clarinet and soprano/alto saxophones. I love working in show bands and I’m experienced in the whistles part of Come From Away.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

That’s fine - let me know and I’ll do what I can to accommodate.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I can create a suitable playlist for before and between sets. There would be an additional charge if £50 for this.

How much time do you need to set up?

30 minutes should be fine.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes! Pick your favourites. I may add in some others I think fit the occasion too.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Included in my fee is a small amp to play the tracks I use. If it’s a large room or likely to be noisy, you may want to consider a small PA. I can organise this if it’s not already there for an additional charge.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

It really depends what they are! I’ll try to include up to three choices of your own, but it will depend on complexity and an availability of music, tracks and licensing. Extra items are charged at £30 each.
