About Carla

Singing pianist
London
Public liability insurance of £10 million
Carla is an amazing and passionate musician with a unique style and sound looking for work

Carla grew up in France. She was born into a family of musicians. She started playing piano at 8 years old and studied in a classical music school for 12 years before deciding to learn jazz and more contemporary music. She started singing in choirs when she was young and then began singing at home with her piano too. Carla moved to London in 2015 to study singing, jazz and contemporary music. In June 2018 she graduate at LCCM (London Centre of Contemporary Music) and now got a degree in Bmus Performance and production. When she was young she listened to Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys and Justin Timberlake and got influenced by some 70’s and 80’s music, funk, disco and artists such as Earth wind and fire, Chaka khan, Patrice Rushen. Since moving to London she explored funk in more depth. She now mainly sings and plays Soul and Funk from the classic 80's songs to some more contemporary soul. Her set list is mainly composed of 80's soul and Motown songs with some more modern soul tunes and few jazz standards for more relaxed atmospheres. Having some up tempos songs and some other slower and laid back, she's able to adapt her set list to different ambiance and mood. Artists like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Bee Gees, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Patrice Rushen are the stylistic basis of her set list.

Carla has a great vocal style and silky smooth tone. When performing at Sutton Music Centre her set had a great mix of material that suited her voice perfectly. She has a natural, relaxed style of communication with the audience and created a wonderful atmosphere which was perfect for our small, intimate performance space. We look forward to inviting her back soon
