Inspired by the music of Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66 the Carioca Soul perform an eclectic mix of Bossa Nova/Samba, contemporary Brazilian music mixed with original tunes in a melting pot of latin/funk and soul. Having already supported US Sax star Harry Allen, Carioca Soul have been performing at local festivals and jazz clubs. We had a great response from our Ep launch and in the spirit of Brasil 66 the performances where uplifting and engaging with the audience. "Carioca Soul have just made their third appearance at Scarborough Jazz. Every visit is a gem of a night and it's great to see the band develop as a unit, with a freshness and vigour that the audience finds infectious. We are already looking forward to visit number four".
