Though now solely a violinist, I have a hugely versatile musical background spanning almost 20 years. I have played many instruments to a high level including flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone and singing. At the age of 16, seeking a completely new challenge, I bought a violin ‘just for fun’. Three years later I gained a place to study violin at Birmingham Conservatoire, where I have now graduated from with a BMus(Hons) in Violin Performance. I also have significant experience as an electric violinist.
During my career as a violinist I have been lucky enough to play in some of the world’s greatest concert venues, including the Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall with the Greater Gwent Youth Orchestra, CBSO Youth Orchestra, and with the Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra.
I also specialise in Baroque violin playing and performance practice, having written a book on the topic and currently studying for a masters degree in musicology.
