Customer questions

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes, Candy is our singer and that's who you get. We're don't use 'dep' musicians, so you'll always get Candy, Pete, Scott and James as seen in the videos, unless someone is ill. But if Candy's ill (and she never is) we'd cancel rather than give you a substandard vocalist who didn't know the material.

Do you have different line-up options?

We can play as a 4 piece, or a duo. Our line up is Candy on vocals and percussion, Pete on bass/guitar/keys and vocals, Scott on guitar and vocals and James on drums and percussion. Like most professional bands, we use virtual digital instruments to fill out the sound. And for an additional fee, we can add a sax player.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We're professionals, so it wouldn't be any problem at all. Just keep us in the loop

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Of course!. We can provide a DJ service for an additional fee or a Spotify/iPod service at no cost

How much time do you need to set up?

We need about an hour to set up, but we always arrive in plenty of time and can provide music through the PA system within about 20 minutes of getting all the gear into the room. It's the first thing we do.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, of course. But please be willing to consider our advice, gleaned from 100's of gigs. It's often easier to tell us what you don't want rather than what you do and we have a lot of experience in putting together set lists from the hundreds of events we've played at. If you're unsure about all of this, just ask for a set list from the last event we played.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, and we have new state-of-the-art equipment with a best in-class portable PA (RCF Evox 12 / Soundcraft Ui24r) and LED lighting for both stage and dancefloor. If you would like a microphone to use for your speeches, there is an additional fee of £50. We ideally require a space of at least 3mx4m, but can fit into smaller spaces if we need to.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, happy to learn a first dance for a wedding or a song that is special. But please don't ask us the day before your event!

Our profession work really hard so it was an absolute delight that for our annual conference every single one of them was on the dancefloor. Candy and the Sound were stellar, great musicians, great performers and great energy. Everyone was really lifted and I could not have asked for more.

Candy and the Sound have an amazing varied playlist of songs. All tastes are catered for. The music is delivered with smiles and engaging, interactive way. Everybody feels like they have a new BFF as Candy gets to know everybody. Delivering all those sing along anthems and dance floor fillers. last weekend they travelled over 200 miles round trip for a small pub Birthday party. The booking was easy to make and communication with Nic aka Candy was excellent. The manager of our local British legion was there and immediately stepped in to exchange business cards for a future booking. The locals are getting excited and the full house audience there will Love Candy as much as we do. hopefully see u soon with my embarrassing fat Daddy dancing lol

Nic (Candy) & the band were absolutely AMAZING! Cannot recommend these guys enough💕 We had the absolute best time in our wedding reception & every single person was up & dancing!! Each of our guests were singing their praises & couldn’t stop raving of how great they were. We really couldn’t have asked for a better band & DJ for our wedding.
