Camille Curtis

Music has always been very personal to me all my life. And one of the things I love about music as I've grown older, is how much I learn about its diversity and its large impact on our world today. I have played piano since I was six years old, but it has become my second instrument which I play largely by ear now. Flute is my principal instrument which I have played since I was eight years old. I love the diversity of the flute as it has allowed me to play all sorts of orchestral and chamber ensemble repertoire, to many solo and accompanied solo pieces. Since coming to university, my passion for performing has grown so much. Weekly orchestra rehearsals have helped me get into a good discipline of practicing and working hard to achieve my fullest potential. Competitions and music festivals have also given me goals to work towards. My passion for performing has now taken me to the Royal Academy of music wher I study flute with Karen Jones and piccolo with Pat Morris. Iam receiving opportunities to perform on side by side schemes with professional orchestras as well as taking part in various excitingly lrjects at the Academy. As I reach the end of my studies, I am excited to really get into the music scene and see what enjoyment I can bring to others through the gift of music.
