Callum McGaw | Fingerstyle Guitarist

I’m a fingerstyle guitarist with over 20 years of playing experience, specialising in turning well-known songs into cinematic solo guitar arrangements. I started playing guitar at a young age and quickly became drawn to how much you can do with just one instrument. That led me to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where I developed both my technical ability and my approach to arranging music. I’ve always been especially inspired by film scores—the way they create atmosphere and emotion—and that’s had a huge influence on the style I bring to my performances today. My sets are built around recognisable music, reimagined in a more relaxed, instrumental style. I cover a mix of pop, rock, film, TV and video game music, all arranged for solo fingerstyle guitar. The aim is always to create a great atmosphere—something that people can enjoy in the background, but that also catches their attention when they recognise a song they love. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to perform at some amazing events, including the NAMM Show in the US and the Warsaw Fingerstyle Festival, as well as a wide range of live shows across the UK and beyond. These experiences have helped shape me into a confident and adaptable performer, comfortable playing in everything from intimate settings to larger stages. Alongside live performance, I’ve built a strong online presence sharing my arrangements, with over 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and a growing online presence. This has allowed me to connect with listeners all over the world and refine the kind of music that really resonates with people. When it comes to live bookings, I pride myself on being reliable, easy to work with, and able to tailor my set to suit the vibe of the event—whether that’s a relaxed drinks reception, a dinner setting, or something a bit more lively later in the evening.
