Calum's first taste of a wedding performance was when his brother and sister-in-law asked him to play at their ceremony. Due to his indecision on what to play, he decided to write his own Scottish folk-inspired wedding song, 'From the Banks,' dedicated to the couple. When Calum began busking in the streets of Glasgow, he had a request from a stranger to perform at their wedding too. This required learning lots of cover songs within a deadline so as to entertain guests for two hours on the day. It wasn't long before Calum was playing 2-3 hour sets at several private events and public venues every week. Private events include weddings, funerals, birthdays, and hen parties. He takes a lot of pride in having been in demand prior to even choosing his career path, and endeavors to provide entertainment of the highest quality. Calum continues to work on his own music under the name Callow Cal as he has done for long before performing live professionally. He has a BA in Commercial Music and an HNC in Sound Production. It may have taken some time for Calum to build his confidence in live performance, however, the late bloomer's talent is fairly flourishing.

Calum played my wee boys christening, was a brilliant day and he made the atmosphere great. Played to the crowd and was a great mix of songs. He was really professional and actually helped us out last minute after someone else let us down, highly recommended! We will definitely book Calum again

Calum played during our wedding drinks reception at Lochside House Hotel and was absolutely fantastic. He did a two hour set and played a mixture of modern and old-school classics, making sure that there was something for everyone’s taste. So many of our guests commented on how excellent Calum was, and how it added such a personal touch to our day. He was very friendly to guests and extremely professional. During the lead up to our wedding, he kept in regular contact and went over and above to learn songs that we wanted and make our day even more special. What do your clients love most about your performances?

My clients tend to admire my variation of styles and genres as it pleases the greatest number of guests. Since I became a full-time musician I continue to ask friends, family, and clients to suggest songs for me to learn. I like to alternate the songs through my set between old and new as well as between genres.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I have performed several shows of my original music at venues such as: King Tut's The Classic Grand Room2 I regularly perform 2-3 hour sets of popular covers at the following venues: Waxy O'Connor's Redhurst Hotel Piper Whisky Bar The Granary Lauders Monteith's Bar Festival Village Wedding venues include Lochside and Parklands Hotel

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I would have to say my show at Room2. Three other buskers and I sold over a hundred tickets and performed to a very attentive crowd.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I understand that there can often be delays at big functions such as weddings. I will do my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the event just let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

DJing is not one of my services however I would be happy to play recorded music through my PA during any breaks required.

How much time do you need to set up?

It doesn't usually take me any more than 15 minutes to set up, although I like to arrive at least 30 minutes before I am due to start performing.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes! You can request as many songs as you like from my setlist to be played within the time available.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Absolutely. I bring all the equipment required to accommodate my performance.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Provided I have plenty of notice I offer 1 free additional song request. from out with my setlist at no extra charge. Further additional song requests are £15 each or 3 for £40.
