About Budley

Vintage Jazz romance from Budley's Ella inspired vocals with a dash of Blossom Dearie
Singer
Manchester

Budley is a Hebden Bridge based Jazz singer who loves to bring out the character and fun of American Songbook greats, with improvisation, scatting and a soulful bluesy tone, she has been compared to Ella Fitzgerald crossed with Blossom Dearie. Budley sings with aplomb swinging uptempo classics such as How High the Moon, as well as more reflective and emotionally powerful ballads and can be hired with a guitar duo, or as part of a trio or quartet.

I’m thoroughly impressed by Budley’s professionalism - we have been working together for more than a year now. The way she sings, talks, moves, looks and smiles is truly magnificent. She is seriously gifted at this! Budley goes an extra mile during the live music evenings at MASH - she surprises our guests by singing ‘Happy Birthday’ songs

With her elegance and style, Budley la Roar cuts a beautiful, diminutive figure, gracing The Coral Room with the quality of her voice and the flair with the drums. Her voice has developed a quality which gains the attention of even the most inconsiderably engrossed talkers in our hotel bar. Not only that, she sings each number with her own distinctive twists and quirks, making them different from a standard performance.
