I decided that I wanted to become a professional musician at the age of 12, and set my heart on getting in to Trinity. Before my time there started, I enjoyed a year or so of playing Principal flute in Kent County Youth Orchestra, tackling such works as Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra and Debussy's L'Apres-Midi D'un Faun. Whilst at Trinity, I learned under Lynda Coffin and Susan Milan, and gained wide experiences in both the orchestral field (the highlight was playing second flute in Tippett's Child of Our Time with the LPO!) and the professional development field. I had a good run of concerts in the amateur music scene in London, performing operas from the likes of Wagner and Puccini with Midsummer Opera, and would like to further continue my involvement in such groups during my time in Scotland!
