Bow & Box

Bow and Box were brilliant from start to finish! Lovely people, talented musicians, and so flexible and adaptable, which was especially important, as we definitely weren’t the best dancers they’ve ever played for! The caller quickly realised he was dealing with a fairly slow-learning group and pitched everything perfectly. They read the room, kept the fun levels high, and made sure everyone was smiling right to the end. Even those who didn’t dance said how much they enjoyed watching, listening, and soaking up the atmosphere. We had a formal dinner and DJ the next night, which was meant to be the main event, but so many people said that Bow and Box and the ceilidh were the real highlight of the weekend. We’d asked for dances that would help people mingle, break the ice, and bring everyone together, and they absolutely nailed it. I honestly can’t think of anything that could have made it better. Can’t wait for the next chance to dance like that again, hopefully with Bow and Box if we’re lucky! Thank you for a wonderful evening. If you’re reading this and thinking about booking them for your event, do it. You won’t regret it!

We cannot recommend these guys enough. We booked them for our wedding and their communication about cost, answering our questions and set up in the lead up was excellent. On the day they arrived in plenty of time, set up as directed by our best man with no fuss and taught us the first dance we opted for in 2 minutes or less! We loved our first dance and it made us feel so much more confident to do it than if we had had to come up with our own! The music was superb. The caller with the band was absolutely the best caller we have ever experienced. He was so friendly and adept at getting everyone at the wedding on the dance floor (a pub lawn in our case) without being remotely pushy - despite the fact many of our friends had never done a celidh before and were a little trepidatious about joining in! Every guest fed back to us that the celidh was a real highlight of the day and we loved it too. A small thing, but we also really appreciated the caller's use of "this side" or "that side" and gender neutral terms for instructions as we are a gay couple and had quite a few Same-sex dancing couples at the wedding so this made everyone more comfortable. The band were genuinely excellent and the quality of the music was commented on by the venue, and they packed the two hour slot with dances which we really appreciated.

Amazing music, well run dance and many people giving feedback it was the highlight of their evening! Friendly and professional would heartily recommend.

Bow and Box were OUTSTANDING! We hired the for a 30th birthday party where we did a cowboy related hoedown and they absolutely SMASHED IT! They were so much fun, went with the flow of my crazy friends and were so so upbeat and talented! Can highly highly recommend them to ANYONG wanting a Ceilidh band...OUTSTANDING!
