Blue Moon Trio

Taking influences from Carlos Jobim, Norah Jones, John Schofield and Stan Getz their repertoire covers jazz to pop to bossa nova. Collectively we have played at Live Aid (Bowie), Glastonbury, Womad, Boomtown, X the Tracks, Jubilation (opening for Madness) and our singer has been hired as a session singer at Abbey Road Studios. Taking influences from Carlos Jobim, Norah Jones, John Schofield and Stan Getz . Craig and molly met at the Brit school and formed a strong musical bond continuing during their university days in Bath. They have been playing together as a duo for the past two years. The addition of sax player Clare Hirst makes up the trio. Clare was born in Cumbria and studied piano and clarinet until managing to get hold of a saxophone. She moved to York and then to Leeds before eventually making it to London where a successful career in pop music ensued. Having written and played on many recordings with artists such as David Bowie,The Communards, Mica Paris, Maxi Priest and she spent some time working with Mervyn Africa before embarking on a solo career based around her Quartet. Molly and Craig both studied at the BRIT school before getting music degrees from Bath Spa. Molly has performed at festivals such as Boomtown, X the tracks and jubilation (opening the stage for Madness) both singing and playing guitar and bass. Her performing highlight so far was being hired as a session singer at Abbey Road Studios. Craig went on to persue sound design as well as jazz guitar and has recently finished working on the sound design for a film that will be released next year. Craigs performance highlight was playing at the BBC studios ! We are confident we will be able to cater to your needs and make your event/day special!
