Blake Powell is an Accompanist, solo pianist and chamber musician from Fareham, Hampshire. Blake started playing the piano at a very young age and studied locally during his time at school. During his A Level studies at South Downs College in Waterlooville he performed alongside Accompanist Ian Richardson in many concerts and often stepped in as an Accompanist for Recitals and graded exams.
Blake left South Downs College after just one year to pursue his ambition of studying at a conservatoire. He is currently studying a professional Piano performance degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music, where he is actively involved as an Accompanist on a daily basis. The skills that he has acquired during his experiences have led him to be able to work with very complicated musical situations in short time periods, putting him high in demand in the very fast world of recitals and concerts.
Blake can provide accompaniment for Early Music, Contempary Music, Jazz and Improvisation, Instrumental or Vocal and is more than willing to experiment with new styles. Blake also has a vast experience in Musical Theatre playing and can assist in all situations from school productions to playing in the pit band for West End shows.
Blake remains very passionate about his solo repertoire despite being a busy Accompanist, and prides himself to give a modern approach to the highly debated world of classical music, and gives regular performances of a varied nature, ranging from baroque suites to jazz originals. Blake's goal as a soloist is to give fresh interpretations of his repertoire and to share his passion for the music with as many people as possible.
