About Ben

Solo Singing Guitarist Playing The Songs You Love and Don't Love Yet.
Singing guitarist
Bristol

Ben performs a range of covers from the 1960’s to present day. From John Denver’s ‘Country Roads’, to The Proclaimers’ ‘500 Miles’ to Neil Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline’ and many more tunes to get the crowd singing along. Whether it’s playing at the wedding ceremony, or performing a chilled acoustic afternoon set at the drinks reception or an upbeat party set with all the anthems, Ben has got your event covered from weddings to birthday parties, private and corporate events and so much more. He also writes and releases his own original music too. From playing in pubs around his hometown in Cornwall to playing at some of the best venues in Bristol and beyond. Nothing looks to be standing in the way of the rising star from the sunny south-west. Ben crafts his songs with honesty, vulnerability and passion from the get go. Broadly drawn up from previous love affairs and growing up in Cornwall - Ben brings elements of the old folk-rock bands (The Eagles) and combines them with the sounds of today to bring something out of the unordinary. After releasing his debut single “Scream and Shout”, Ben continues to work on releasing more music, supporting more of the best artists of today and establishing himself as a name to remember.

Ben performed at our wedding and went down a treat! A great set-list, stellar guitar, and charming vocals - Ben had our guests up and dancing in no time. Ben was friendly, professional, and helpful, too - he even learnt a whole new song specifically for our first dance 🕺 💙 We would HIGHLY recommend!!

Myself and Chris had the absolute pleasure of Ben playing at our wedding, both in the Church and at our Wedding reception. From our first chat at the church right the way through he couldn't have been more helpful, understanding and respectful. What a pleasure he was to have as part of our special day. I would have no qualms recommending Ben again. Thanks again you little beauty.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The variety of songs and genres that I include in my set lists. You can expect elements of folk, rock and pop genres in my setlist and I also incorporate my live loop-station in some of my songs to add more variety to the sets.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've performed at various weddings, pubs, clubs, private events and also performed as a session musician in Nashville, USA.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Growing up in a musical family, I have been exposed to a variety of genres and artists. The ones who really resonated with me in the early days would be The Eagles, James Taylor, John Denver and Michael Jackson. These days I take all the artists above and more to bring in a variety of cover songs from throughout the decades (mainly 1960s onwards).

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I performed at Sterts Theatre in Cornwall with Wildwood Kin (Now known as Peacelily) in front of a sold out crowd.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No problem at all - no extra charges for changing timings. As long as I have plenty of notice and have availability to perform for you under the new timings, it's no issue.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and I actually offer this service for free before and in between sets. If you'd like a DJ service via my PA after the final set until the venue closes, I can provide this for an additional fee.”

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually set up about 45 minutes to an hour before the performance time. As soon as the PA is set up I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for the live performance!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

My set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, I'm definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own instrument to play acoustically and PA system.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance I already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn I am happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
