About Ben & Tim

Professional Acoustic Duo! Formed over 10 years ago we have played all over the UK. Our gigs are fun energetic and musically spectacular
Acoustic duo
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Brought together by a love of music and a passion for guitars and harmonies, Ben and Tim are a pair of musicians who put a unique spin on the acoustic duo. Formed over ten years ago, we play covers from the sixties to present day with an energy and passion you don't see everyday. Our dynamic performances and fun-loving delivery lend themselves to a range of functions, from weddings and parties to corporate events and pubs. We love nothing more than to perform to people and share our love for great music! Ben and Tim eat, drink and sleep music and we love to share our passion with everyone we meet. We have spent the past ten years honing our performances and you won't be able to escape our enthusiasm! Here is a lil' bit about us: Ben Whelan Ben started to play guitar when he was 15 years old and has never looked back! Having played in a range of bands, Ben has had great experiences such as supporting Toploader at the 02 in London. His soaring vocals hit the heights of tracks such as 'Take on Me' with ease - you should hear how long he can hold a single note in 'Whole Lotta Love'! Tim Goode Tim is a multi-instrumentalist who mainly focuses on guitars and vocals. As the Head of Music at Bath College, he spends every day absorbed in music. Whilst performing with a range of bands, Tim has developed strong harmonies and has, over the years, managed to tame the raw rock talent which formed the basis for his singing voice. Although we are based in the Bath area, we have played gigs all over the country for private parties and corporate events. Having performed together for the past decade, we pride ourselves in tailoring each performance to the event due to our vast (and ever-expanding!) set list.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We prefer to play as a duo, we can enlist a drummer and bass player. However, this will come at an additional charge.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes.

How much time do you need to set up?

We normally prefer to take an hour to setup though we can setup more quickly if needs be. During the setup we can provide a free playlist service prior to our live performance.

Can you roam around while you perform?

We can perform acoustically which allows us to roam during the performance. However if we are playing through the PA system this is a little bit more tricky.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We are happy to take requests from our setlist. If you would like a song that is not on our setlist we can learn it before hand (we ideally need a minimum of one weeks notice).

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, all quotes include PA system and lighting rig (including smoke machine).

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you.

LOVE Ben & Tim!!! We have seen them several times at various venues and always had an amazing time, their vocals are incredible, they always create such a great atmosphere and know just what songs to play to make everyone’s night! So when we needed some music for our wedding we really didn’t consider anyone else... there was only one option! They definitely didn’t disappoint! They sounded great and everyone loved them, the dance floor was full all night! They even learned some songs that they knew I liked (even though they were not as cool as their usual repertoire!) which was a really lovely personal touch. People still comment to me about the band we had at our wedding and how great they were.

Kirstie, 2 years ago

"I first saw Ben and Tim playing at the Brewhouse in Bath, they were great, and luckily were free to come and play at a 50th Birthday party a few weeks later. They are not only great musicians but brilliant performers too, with a laid back, easy going manner, coupled with a great sense of humour. Everybody, and I mean everybody, at the party loved them, and they kept us singing and dancing well into the early hours, (well, strictly speaking, I think it was us who made them carry on, but no one wanted them to finish!) Overall, Ben and Tim turned the party into a great success, and I can't wait to book them again."
