BELOW the BORDER ~ Outstanding Rock Band of Ex Recording Artists from the 70s ~ Exceptional players with great harmony vocals. ~ Classic rock hits performed by ex-professionals who were there at the time! ~ Some of us appear on albums on original vinyl - yes, we really are that old! ~ We always fill the dance floor, audiences always cheer for 2 or 3 encores. We left the music business professionally decades ago; but we’ve always gigged, playing every type of venue. From town halls to village halls, from tiny music pubs to iconic rock venues, from clubs on the continent to big-stage festivals in English summers. Your guests will have a night they remember. If you want to see who we used to be, we’ll come up 1st - below the border rock Our fees are low because we no longer have any interest the money. We put this band together solely for the joy getting back on the road to play the soundtrack of our youth exactly like the original records. The songs that EVERYONE knows. The best music of the 20th century! We love seeing young and old leap to their feet when they hear those iconic guitar intros from ‘our era’ - Born to Be Wild, Alright Now, Honky Tonk Women, Sultans of Swing, Radar Love, Rebel Rebel, Get it On, Jeepster, Fox on the Run, Rockin’ all over the World, Mustang Sally, Keep on Running, Black Night, Can’t get Enough and many many more We’ve recently added a new harmony singer. Gail is also from the 70s and from a musical family. Her cousin is Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics (but her biggest claim to fame is once making a cup of tea for Bob Dylan in Dave’s mum’s little house in Newcastle!) Artists we cover:- Cream, Free, David Bowie, T-Rex, Fleetwood Mac, The Kinks, Jimi Hendrix, The Sweet, Thin Lizzy, Badfinger, Golden Earring, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Faces, Steppenwolf, Steve Miller, ZZ Top, Wilson Picket, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Canned Heat, The Who, Creedence Clearwater, Spencer Davis, Dire Straits, Thin Lizzy . . . and others we all love and cherish. Feel free to get in touch by phone or email to chat about your event without obligation. We are very friendly! Noel BELOW the BORDER

Do you have different line-up options?

No. We may give you an additional quote in here for 4 musicians to allow us offer a lower the fee for you, but we’ll still bring 5! We're outstanding players and singers; but we normally charge very low fees to pick & choose our bookings. We have no interest in the money.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Never a problem. We’ve done too many miles as professional touring musicians back in the day. We don’t sweat the small stuff now. We’re relaxed, highly educated and down to earth. We’ve all had high-end careers since leaving the music business and we’re very friendly. Just ask for what you need.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yep. We don’t have a DJ service but have met enough of them over the years to recommend you one that you’ll like if you tell us what genre you want. Happy to select an iPod play-list with you. We’ve produced albums. We know music.

How much time do you need to set up?

One hour. We have a state of the art PA but our back line amplifiers and our guitars are vintage - because they SOUND better. Authentic. Consequently we can set up and sound check without fuss - just like the old days! We are happy to plan set up and sound check around your party arrangements, just tell us what you need

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of course. We’re doing this for the joy of playing OUR favourite hits from the best musical decade of the century. But we’ll learn one of your favourite songs so long as it’s not The Bay City Rollers. Our show is carefully constructed. Your guests WILL shout for more. They always do.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes of course. Our fees are low because we put this band together for the joy getting back on the road to play the soundtrack of our youth. We’re not really interested in the money. We don’t need it and prefer to charge less so we can pick and choose our bookings,

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes this happens all the time. We have an enormous amount of professional performing and recording experience. Our lead guitarist does Hendrix and Clapton solos note for note perfect, so so we can play ANYTHING. Recent songs we’ve learned by request include: Light My Fire, Layla, Radar Love, Fox On the Run, Sultans of Swing, Proud Mary . . .
