Beatles in Jazz

The music of the Beatles has provided inspiration to countless jazz artistes and musicians from McCoy Tyner through to Brad Mehldau. For this project Matt has arranged his own personal favourite songs from the Beatles repertoire, bringing them to life through the interplay of the jazz quartet. Classic songs like: Across the Universe, Blackbird, Can’t Buy Me Love, Ticket to Ride, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Michelle, Norwegian Wood and many more. Joining the piano trio is vocalist Helen Gayle, bringing a warmth and soulful blend of jazz and gospel to the words and music. The project is not only a journey into the music of the Beatles but also into Matt’s writing and arranging style, The Beatles music is so varied and comprehensive this is a project that will develop over time and provide endless inspiration
