I'm very aware that a DJ can make or break a party & I communicate with clients to make sure the music is perfect for the event!! I play 70's/Disco/80's/90's/House/00's/Funk&Soul/R&B/Rock & Indie and all my music is uplifting and guaranteed to keep the dance floor busy. I'm a people person and my main aim is always to make sure the clients are happy and that their special event is one to remember! Growing up in the late 70's and through the 80's 90's and noughties I have a vast knowledge of music and can tailor my style to suit the needs of the event. I am also a trained pianist and drummer which combined helps me to make the right music choices and mixes! I have a passion for music and love to see people smiling and having fun whenever I am on the decks. As a TV producer of 20 years (Emma Barron) I also have the skills to conduct myself professionally, I have full kit including lights and I'm reliable and communicative and clear with all bookings and arrangements. I want to make your event as stress free as possible so you can have a good time.

We hired the fabulous dj barroness for our clubbing event at revenge in Brighton. She went down an absolute storm. She was really communicative, she listened to the brief, was really enthusiastic with loads of energy and a clear passion for music and DJ-ing with awesome tunes played. We would not hesitate to recommend her brilliant DJ-ing and have, in fact, booked her again for our next event.

The House of Happiness is London’s Ultimate Sober Clubbing Extravaganza and that’s largely thanks to having Barroness (aka Emma) hit the decks as our Resident DJ! With her passion for DJing, house music & clubbing, Barroness knows how to work the crowd. Her talent & dedication is shown by how she curates her sets so brilliantly. She churns out banging hit after hit delving into those killer club classics as well as pumping out newer sounds & modern remixes - and with a dance floor full party people of all ages, there really is something for everyone. Plus vocal house tunes are a must have at our events & so this is all factored in carefully. Our crowd go mad for Barroness as she plays for the final two hours of the day. Inhibitions & worries about sober dancing go out the window as they belt out the word & dance freely to her sets. Barroness’ story about pursuing her dream of DJing after going sober resonates with our party people proving you don’t need booze to hit the dance floor hard - just decent, skilfully played tunes & like minded people wanting to have a good time. What do your clients love most about your performances?

The fact that i can make good music choices and judge the dancefloor acurately. I put a lot of effort into my preparation and at the event to make sure it's a success.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Ministry of Sound, Electrowerkz, Fire in Vauxhall. House of St Barnabus (soho square) Monas bar Tottenham, Club Revenge Brighton,

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Ministry of Sound but will be playing a few festivals this year . . watch this space.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible as i know that events timings can change at the last minute! Obviously the more notice I'm given the better but i appreciate this is not always possible.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes i can provide spotify playlists or MP3s for before/between/after my sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

If i'm bringing full kit then about an hour maybe hour and a half. It's better to set up before the party starts so it doesn't get in the way of the event!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes i always make sure that we are aligned in terms of what you want me to play. You can send me lists of music you like and i'll incorporate into my setlist.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes i bring it all. Obviously if the venue have their own equipment then I'll use theirs (usually i try and recce the venue before the event just in case their equipment isn't up to scratch!)

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes. I can take a set amount of music which you want to hear and incorporate into my set list.
