Formed in early 2023 by a coming together of like-minded musicians, we wanted to create an exciting new band that can provide top-quality performances. With years of collective experience and 1000's of gigs under our belts, we are confident in our ability to perform like no other. For Barely Functional, musical excellence is our top priority; we want the party dancing all night long, and we provide the groove and good vibes to keep everyone on the dancefloor.

Barely Functional were amazing! They completely made our wedding celebration exactly what we wanted. They were very professional, flexible, reassuring and calm in the run-up to the big day - no dramas, everything was easy, and we knew we were in good hands. They turned up early and brought great sound and light kit with them (easily big enough for our festival-feel outdoors event). They played all the tunes we'd requested for the DJ set, then proceeded to wow everyone with upbeat live playing and singing from their extensive set list that got everyone to their feet. What more could you ask for from a wedding band? We're so very pleased we found Barely Functional and would recommend them to anyone. Thank you!

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes, Lou will always be the singer for your event with no exceptions.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line up is Vocals, Guitar, Keys, Bass, and Drums. To ensure that we don't compromise on the quality of our performance or our sound, we stick to this line up always.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We will always do our best to accommodate and timing changes within reason. Should a big change occur however, like a much earlier set-up and sound check for example, an additional fee may be charged.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes absolutely! And should you want a DJ service after the band has finished, we can provide this for an extra £150.

How much time do you need to set up?

We typically need 1.5 hours to set up and sound check. Once our PA system is set up, we can provide a playlist to help set the atmosphere.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes you can certainly let us know if there are songs you absolutely want us to play!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, all of our equipment is include in the price so you don't need to worry about any extra fees.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes! If you would like us to learn a song for you, there is a £50 charge (£10 per musician) to account for the time spent learning and rehearsing the song.
