Atma Guitar & Cello Duo

Atma duo bring popular music of your choice to your wedding, played in a beautiful, folky style on the cello and guitar. We can play for any part of the wedding, whether it be a special song to walk down the aisle to, or for whilst signing the register, or a selection of contemporary & classic songs to accompany the canapés, reception, or through dinner. Their music covers many eras and genres, from pop to rock and folk! We can also play background music as the guests are arriving, creating a relaxed and romantic atmosphere, which is particularly suited to a rustic barn wedding, but would equally suit a more elegant setting. We have a wide ranging repertoire of well known and loved songs. Particular pieces can be learned and arranged on request for your wedding, even if you don't see them on our set list, which is just a small sample. The duo are suitable for small and large spaces, indoor and outdoor, and have amplification when required. Atma Guitar & Cello Duo is made up of acclaimed acoustic guitarist David Ian Roberts, and classically-trained cellist, Kirsten Miller. A highly regarded folk guitarist, David Roberts has had his music played on Radio 2 and Radio 6 music. He has performed live concerts across the UK, and provided music for many weddings. His deft accompaniment to Kirsten's lead playing brings a warmth and lively rhythm to their full sounding arrangements. Kirsten was trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and is an in demand session cellist & performer, She has great skill at playing the melodies of both popular and classical music, much of which she can improvise by ear. The "atma" in our name means soul or spirit.
