Aseye Olympio's profile picture

My name is Aseye Olympio. I have been playing the violin for 14 years. I started playing the violin through a music education charity, London Music Masters which is now known as Music Masters. Music Masters gave each student in my class the opportunity to learn the violin. I was given learning resources, outstanding opportunities to perform and prestigious organisations at world-class venues. As of now, I am an alumni member of Music Masters. Myself and 19 other alumni members led a campaign called #SaveOurMusic in order to celebrate high quality music education. We devised pop-up performances that we then performed to the unsuspecting public at Portcullis House, King's Cross and the Southbank Centre. The music mashup was a mix up of genres with works by the Beatles, Bizet and Ariana Grande. I have performed at numerous national venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Symphony Hall in Birmingham, Royal Albert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the list goes on. I love playing different genres of music and I am able to express myself very well with the music I am given. I have completed grade 5 and 8 practical exams with distinctions in both. I completed my grade 8 practical 4 years ago. As of now, the quality of my playing is much higher than grade 8 and I am aiming to sit my diploma. I studied at the Royal College of Music for 7 years. I have taken part in the London Philharmonic Orchestra Junior Artists' programme. I was part of the National Children's Orchestra for 3 years which massively improved my violin skills. I am currently part of the Chineke! Junior Orchestra and have been for some time now. Being a member of this Orchestra has given me the opportunity to perform in a string quartet for the Duchess of Cambridge along with other special guests in 2019. I was also given the opportunity to perform for the mayor of London (Sadiq Khan) at city hall for a black history month event in October 2019.

An outstanding solo performance at the Royal Festival Hall. Aseye was able to learn the music (Symphonie Concertante in G major) in such a short space of time and on short notice, she performed with so much energy.

Music C, 3 years ago

An extraordinary performance at Queen Elizabeth Hall performing Vivaldi for 4 violins. A good sense of leadership and organisation within the group.
