As-One Collectives motto is - Music Is Timeless. Performing the best in classic Soul, Motown and authentic Reggae music. Our aim is to deliver a great and entertaining musical performance. The Band, was signed to Bob Lambs recording label in the late 70's primarly performing Reggae Music. Unfortunately the band disbanded in the early eighties. Some members of the original band started exploring other genres like Soul and Motown. When the band reformed, with the two remaining original members, we became a collective. Together with our experience, love of music, and live performances, we have built a reputation for high entertainment, and crowd pleasing, floor filling performances, leaving our audiences wanting more. The As-One Collective Band is always ready to perform, wherever, or whatever the occasion maybe. Venue performances include, Jam House, Brass House, and The Lounge at Boldmere, to name but a few. We have also performed for Birmingham Mental Health Trust, for their Mental Health Awareness Campaign. Previous works include TV appearences for BBC World In Action, ITV England Their England, as well as private & corporate gigs.

My friends and I attended The Jam House on the 12th of March to see As-One Collective . If you want to reminisce and hear the old classics, this musical experience did not disappoint. This is the third time seeing this amazing band. They captivated the audience leaving them wanting more. Their musical skills offer the audience a fresh twist to the sounds from back in the day. If you get the opportunity, grab a ticket., you won’t be disappointed. Denise

The As-One Collective appeared live for a Valentine Special event, For Wednesday Mic Fever. The evening consisted of Dj's, a food buffet, and three live bands entertaining the audience. Appearing as the only Soul / Motown band in the line up, the As-One Collective band made a statement on the stage, with a high energy performance, which had the crowd up on their feet, dancing and singing along to the music. The band played with precision, quality, strong vocals and top quality musicianship, which generated an atmosphere elevating the crowd into wanting more. A great performance by the AOC. I would recommend this band for weddings, birthdays or any other function. A top band performance.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients love our professionalism and attention to our performances. We are very particular about our sound quality and the high standard of our performances.

Jam House - Birmingham, Brass House - Birmingham, The Legacy Centre - Birmingham, Lounge@Boldmere - Sutton Coldfield, The Boulevard Newcastle-Under-Lyne, Festivals and Birmingham Mental Health Trust - Charity Event - various sights.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

There are so many artist that have shaped the As-One Collective Band, including Soul, Motown and Reggae music influences. From a vocal point of view Chaka Khan, Randy Crawford, Gladys Knight, Lisa Stansfield, Luther Vandross, Lou Rawls, Stevie Wonder, Frankie Beverley, Beres Hammond, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Marcia Griffiths, Bob Marley, and many more

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Working with the BBC for World In Action which was later televised. Placing 3rd In the first Princes Trust completion from 500 entries nationwide, followed by an invite to the Royal Albert Hall for the first Princess Trust live performance from some of the recipients of the Trusts Funding.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

The vocalists will be the same. We strive to make sure the line-up you see is what you get on the night. We do have pre-audititioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.”

Do you have different line-up options?

our line up is as follows, 2 vocals, guitar, 2 keys, Basses, Drum, percussions, and sax. We can also have the option of trumpets and extra backing vocals if required.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.”

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

This is a really popular request and we actually offer this iPod service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £400. Details can be found in our Price guide.

How much time do you need to set up?

“We usually set up about 2 to 2.5 hours before the performance time. Preferably the earlier the better by prior arrangment. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service, Or Dj service if contracted to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!”

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

“Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

“Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 8ft by 10ft space to perform”. We also have a stage of 12ft by 26 ft if space allows which can be supplied.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

“If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. Prices can found in our price guide for this service to taking into account rehearsal times etc. ”
