April Goh

Currently studying Music Business at Buckinghamshire New University and a composition graduate of the Malaysian Institute of Art, I combine classical training with a cinematic instinct for storytelling. With ABRSM Grade 8 certifications in Music Theory, Classical Piano, and Cello, as well as 13 years as a guitarist (including 2 professionally), I move seamlessly between orchestral scoring, modern textures, and genre-driven sound. I’ve worked on film scores alongside Varqa Buehrer, contributing to projects by directors Tingting Yao and Sam Quah, where I developed a strong feel for timing, narrative pacing, and emotional impact. My experience also includes orchestral arranging for the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre Orchestra, composing for the game "Hikayat Pak Ya" with WalkingFish Studio, and publishing choral works under the Young Choral Academy. Now working independently, I focus on scoring for film and visual media, crafting music that supports the story, elevates performances, and knows exactly when to stay out of the way. Subtle or epic, intimate or explosive, I write with the screen in mind.
