Anna Rogers

Anna is a 20 year old flautist who is studying at the Royal College of Music. At the age of 8 she began the flute after hearing her mother teach every Saturday. She achieved ABRSM Grade 8 when she was 11 and at the same age she was invited to attend a Masterclass with Sir James Galway and play with the National Children’s Orchestra. In her first year at Bromsgrove School (aged 13), she was a flute soloist in Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No 2 at Birmingham Town Hall, accompanied by a professional orchestra. Anna progressed to Principal Flute with the National Children’s Wind Orchestra and for the last two years has been Co-Principal Flute with the National Youth Wind Orchestra, where she was appointed a Leverhulme Arts Scholar. At the Junior Royal Academy of Music, she progressed to Principal Flute in their top orchestra, playing works such as Shostakovich’s 6th, Mahler’s 1st and Copland’s 3rd symphonies. She currently Principal flute with the Fantasia orchestra in London, the Watford Sinfonia and Wyatt Sinfonia. Anna has taken part in competitions and won the first junior Bromsgrove International Music Competition in March 2016 and was invited to perform in a showcase concert at the Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove in February 2017. Anna is going to be performing the fantastic Flute Concerto by Carl Reinecke in July 2019 with the Wyatt Sinfonia, and in December 2019 will be performing the Nielsen Flute Concerto with the Watford Sinfonia.
