Anna Robinson trained first as a clarinettist at the University of Southampton where she graduated with a distinction in a Masters in music performance. Whilst studying, she played as principal clarinettist with Southampton University Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonietta, Wind Orchestra and Concert Band. In addition to this she has been a member of smaller ensembles including The Cadenza Clarinet Duet and her trio Claricello with Hatty Goody (cello) and Paul Gardner (piano). Through her music making, Anna has toured to a variety of countries including France, Switzerland, Croatia, Holland and Germany.Anna also has a strong interest in jazz and has played in the Southampton University Progression Ensemble. This gave her the exciting opportunity of performing alongside jazz trumpeter Abram Wilson in a rare performance of Miles Davis’ Porgy and Bess. In addition to this, Anna also performed with Soweto Kinch in the Gershwin Remixed project. Anna currently works for Southampton Music Hub as a single reed specialist. Anna thoroughly enjoys conducting Southampton Youth Concert Sinfonia and highlights include conducting the Les Miserables medley on Cotswolds tour 2017, a performance which featured over 80 musicians! Anna regularly features as a clarinettist in newly formed orchestra Magna Sinfonia the most recent project under the direction of the former young conductor in association of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Frank Zielhorst providing a rehearsal orchestra for violinist Claire Howick ahead of her recording of the Kenneth Leighton Violin Concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Anna’s own musical experiences have encouraged her to work with young musicians to inspire the next generation.

We really wanted to say a huge thank you for the wonderful music on Saturday, you were truly fabulous. We received so many great comments from our guests and Emma and Jovan were over the moon. They have just flown off on honeymoon but will thank you themselves on return. Emma mentioned she recognised some of her favourite tracks whilst you were playing so thank you.

We booked Anna for our wedding earlier this year and it was like a dream come true. All our guests were loving her tunes. Her sax rendition of “Kiss Me” was a particular highlight and her music fit perfectly as we were having dinner. Anna is at the top of my list if we do another event and I’d really recommend her to anyone! Thanks again Anna!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I’m very easy to work with and tailor the music to their event appropriately, whether that is an upbeat vibe or something more relaxed and chilled.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I’ve performed at a wide range of wedding venues including Clock Barn Tufton Warren and S.S Great Britain in Bristol. As an orchestral musician, I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to perform at Symphony hall in Birmingham and Cadogan hall in London as well as cathedrals across the UK.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I have performed with the likes of Aled Jones, Kerry Ellis, Ricardo Alfonso and Carly Paoli.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No problem at all! I fully understand this is your special day and am prepared to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I can provide a playlist between sets at no additional cost.

How much time do you need to set up?

30 minutes to ensure everything runs smoothly for your event.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes absolutely, I am equally happy to take your music tastes into account and tailor to your needs

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes wither playing from backings or with a live accompanist at an additional cost.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc
