Anna Grondalska was born in 1995 in Wrocław, Poland, and began to play the cello at the age of ten. She began her adventure with music at the age of 6 with piano. She won several competitions including first prize at the Competition of Contemporary Music in Wroclaw (2012, 2013), first prize at the Karol Kurpinski National Competition for Young Musicians in Włoszakowice, distinction at the Polish Nationwide cello competition in Sochaczew. She was also a finalist of the school contest of knowledge about the life and artistic work of John Cage and received the third prize at the contest of knowledge about Sergius Rachmaninoff. She is also active chamber musician. Her piano trio (Appasionato Piano Trio) were the winners of a Polish Nationwide consort competition held in Gdynia (May 2014). Currently she is a member of Metropolitan String Trio founded at the Royal Academy of Music. She has vast experience in performing, which is confirmed by the numerous concerts at which she played. Anna performed as a soloist in several cities in Poland and abroad. She appeared solo with the orchestra at the Wroclaw Philharmonic as part of the Polish Nationwide Music Schools’ Symphonic Orchestras Competition. As a soloist, she also performed at the festival “La Folle Journee de Varsovie” (September 2013). She participated in charity concerts for the young disabled people and for the patients of the Clinic Hospital. Throughout her musical career she has participated in numerous masterclasses in London,Łańcut,Minden and Pisary with the greatest musicians such as Collin Carr, Michael Flaksman, Claus Reichardt, Stanisław Firlej, Tomasz Strahl and Katarzyna Polonek.
