Anna Crawford

Anna is an undergraduate scholar at the Royal College of Music, studying with Richard Lester. In 2019, Anna was awarded first prize in the Royal College of Music Cello Competition. Most recently she was a first prize winner at the Padova International Competition and a highly commended semi-finalist at the Tunbridge Wells International Competition. She was awarded the Cox Memorial Prize at the 2022 Eastbourne Young Soloist Competition and was a prizewinner at the 2022 D‘Addario Competition. Anna has given recitals at venues including Fairfield Halls, Sevenoaks Music Club, Egerton House and Ashford Parish Church. Anna has also performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Kent Concert Orchestra, Bromley Youth Symphony Orchestra and in Rochester Cathedral. In 2020, she took part in the London Mozart Players ‘Cello-Fest’ concert, performing the Haydn C Major Cello Concerto. Most recently, Anna performed Ina Boyle‘s Elegy for solo cello and orchestra, with the RCM Philharmonic and Jac van Steen. Anna has performed in projects and festivals around Europe, including the European Music Gallery Festival, Maiastra Chamber Music and at the Europa Nostra Cultural Heritage Summit. At the RCM, Anna has been part of projects including the Body Language in Chamber Music Scheme and the ‘HeadOn! Composer Collaboration Project. Anna has recently performed as part of ensembles including the European Union Youth Orchestra, Britten Shostakovich Festival Orchestra and the LGT Young Soloists She also regularly plays principal cello in orchestral performances at the RCM.
