Andy Lowe

I took piano lessons as a small child and developed the basics of harmony and classical theory. Then I realised that I needed to break free from the world of written music, and started to play my own ideas and taught myself to play blues and Jazz. I played a lot more often and got a lot better as a result. I always used to sing from a young age so it made sense to combine the two skills. After I finished my formal university education, I realised that music was my true calling in life, so I enrolled in London Music School which helped me to learn from the professional players and teachers there. I developed a deeper understanding of music, and invaluable experience. I love improvisation and composition and I play my keyboard every day that I can, to practice and because I enjoy it. As a function act I play and sing soulful versions of well known songs, as well as vintage classics. I also love to play Jazz and I can improvise and do background music. I can play on my own or with my quartet (with cajon, bass, guitar players) if you want a bigger sound. Aside from function work, I also teach piano, play as a session keyboard player with other artists, and I have my own original band 'Lost In Caravaggio', which was formed in 2014 and gives me more opportunities to explore my creative side by writing original music. I enjoy playing to big or small crowds, because when I play I enjoy the moment so much that I am happy even to play on my own at home, or in front of 500 people.
