The ALO is a 12 piece mixed instrumental group of experienced professional musicians who specialise in providing polished, quality entertainment for any type of event. We play covers of pop and classic anthems and have an extensive and varied playlist. Currently we are based in the northwest but we are available nationwide and abroad if required. Collectively we have played for Rod Stewart, Lisa Stansfield, The Jools Holland Orchestra, Moody Blues, Shirley Bassey, Mica Paris and Annie Lennox, and have appeared many times on tv. Andy specialises in writing bespoke musical arrangements of favourite songs for his orchestra and is happy to receive client requests. Their easy listening sound is acoustic and classical, but is boosted by electric guitars, keyboards and drums giving them a distinctive and exciting style covering all musical genres and offering something for all tastes. Being extremely versatile, they can adapt their volume level to suit many types of venue as they are able to perform acoustically, or amplified with a PA. Their ethos is one of innovation, style and excellence, whilst always being flexible and focused on what the client wants.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients most love our rich silky sound which is created by the unusual mix of classical and pop instruments. We are able to play such a range of songs that there is always something for everyone.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line-up is as follows: flute, oboe, clarinet, 3 violins, viola, cello, electric bass, rhythm guitar, keyboards and kit. Also there is a conductor. We also have a string quartet.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always want your event to run as smoothly as possible so we'll be as flexible as we can. Keep us informed if things alter slightly and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

How much time do you need to set up?

We'll always arrive in plenty of time but only need a minimum of 45 mins to set up.

Can you roam around while you perform?

This isn't practical for our set up.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

The best thing to do is to chat about requests before the event and we'll definitely try to include them in the sets.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Any PA is not included in the quote but our lighting is. We usually require a minimum of 5m by 4m to perform but we can alter our configuration to suit different performance spaces.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If you want something that's not on our song list then get in touch and chat to us about it. We may already know it or Andy can write a special version of it for you. There's a fee of £150 for a new song to cover the time it takes to write and rehearse it.
