Andrew Taheny

Hi! I'm Andrew and I'm a violinist based in London, originally from Glasgow. I can offer a wide range of repertoire to suit wedding ceremonies and receptions, as well as other functions. I am also more than happy to source or arrange specific pieces of music to fit personal requests! I am a freelance violinist with a Masters degree in Violin Performance (with Distinction) from the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. I was a 2023/24 Southbank Sinfonia Violin Fellow, and am currently taking part in the Hallé Advanced Orchestral Strings Programme. I have also performed with ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Irish Baroque Orchestra, Collegium Musicum 90, and Manchester Baroque. During my postgraduate studies, I also performed with musicians from the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Les Arts Florissants and the Academy of Ancient Music. I have extensive experience performing for weddings, proposals, funerals and other events, and pride myself on making each performance not only polished and professional, but sensitive and personal to you. As you will see from my setlist, besides playing classical music I also love to play pop, folk, rock and everything in between!
