Andrew Groom has been a trombone student at the Royal College of Music, London since September 2008. He entered the RCM as a very talented player and has subsequently developed into one of the most talented players of his generation. Andrew is, without doubt, an extremely accomplished trombonist both musically and technically, as he admirably showed in a recent RCM recital in which he achieved the highest mark of any trombonist in recent times. A career as a professional trombonist is well within his capabilities.

I have been teaching Andrew at The Royal College of Music for over 2 years. He is a most diligent student who takes all aspects of his study very seriously. Not only does he work very hard to master all technical aspects of his playing but he also has a keen sense of how these are to be put to practice in a musical sense. His present standard of performance is already very high but I anticipate that he will continue to build on this in the next years as he develops his career as a professional player.
