Andrew was excellent
We cannot thank Andrew enough for his wonderful playing on the day and his professionalism leading up to the day. We really appreciate Andrew taking the time to learn some new pieces for us that meant a lot to us and our guests. G&S
I am a Glasgow-based pianist, piano-teacher and composer. I am available throughout central Scotland for weddings, piano bars, corporate events, parties, etc. With over 20 years' professional experience, I cover a wide variety of musical tastes and styles, and can tailor a programme of music to suit any occasion. I can provide my own digital piano, if required. While classically-trained, I am equally at home with pop, rock, jazz, musical theatre, film scores, and other styles. I really enjoy blending together seemingly-unrelated pieces of well-known music from different genres, to make music that is fresh and new. I also form one half of an exciting new piano-vocal duo, which is also available for weddings, bars, etc : further details are available on request. I have been playing piano since the age of 7, and passed my grade 8 Associated Board exam with Distinction. At the age of 17, I obtained an LTCL (Licentiate of the Trinity College of London) diploma in Piano Performance. Throughout my time at University, I accompanied hymns and public singing, in several churches and other organisations. From to 1996 to 2012, I accompanied ballet classes at the Studio school of dance, in Glasgow's West End, and became the Senior Pianist there. As well as playing for weekly classes, I also accompanied numerous ballet shows in venues such as the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the Mitchell Theatre and the SECC. I composed and performed various pieces of original music, including one entire 40-minute ballet around the story of "James and the Giant Peach". I am a regular solo performer in the "Strathclyde Piano" concerts at University of Strathclyde, and also in the "Strathclyde Proms", covering venues such as the Kelvingrove Gallery and the Barony Hall. Since 2005, I have also been teaching piano to both adults and children, and have several pupils. I also regularly accompany for flute, in local Music Festivals and other public events.
