Andre Chilio

André Chilio is a Brazilian double bassist and music educator with extensive experience in performance, pedagogy, and ensemble leadership. He is currently completing a Bachelor in Music at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he has developed a strong foundation in both instrumental mastery and educational practice. André has held the position of Assistant Double Bass Teacher at the São Paulo Music Conservatory, where he prepared students, delivered engaging music theory instruction, led group technique classes, and supported conservatory professors with repertoire and schedule management. Alongside this role, he has worked as a private music teacher, adapting his pedagogical approach to each student’s learning pace while fostering technical security, musical understanding, and a lasting appreciation for music. As an orchestral musician, André has served as Section Leader (Double Bass) with several ensembles, including the São Paulo State Youth Orchestra and Teatro São Pedro Orchestra. His performance experience spans classical, contemporary, operatic, and popular repertoire, with appearances in chamber groups and collaborations with major international soloists. Highlights include performing on Andrea Bocelli’s 30th Anniversary Tour and participating in the premiere of the Brazilian opera Amor Azul by Gilberto Gil.
