André Machado is currently studying oboe with Fabien Thouand, Gareth Hulse and Jacques Tys at the Royal College of Music. He previously studied at the Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa.
André participated in masterclasses with Hansjörg Schellenberger Andreas Wittmann, Omar Zoboli, Diethelm Jonas, Celia Nicklin, Washington Barella, Jacques Tys and Stefan Schilli.
He has worked with conductors such as Peter Stark,Thierry Fischer, Martin André, Tim Reynish, Jean-Sébastien Béreau, Christopher Bochmann, Pedro Neves, in orchestras such as Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil, Royal College of Music Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras.
He has participated in orchestra courses in Portugal, England, Germany, France and Hungary. As a soloist André has performed both in Portugal and in the UK in 2013 with the RCM String Orchestra as part of the Autumn in Malvern Festival.
