Amy Bowles gradated from Royal Northern College of Music in 2017 with a Masters specialising in classical guitar performance. Outside of the concert hall Amy is a sensitive and engaging musician who can provide the appropriate music for weddings, receptions, birthdays and corporate events. Recent clients for private events have included Northern Quarter Restaurant for a gormet Spanish evening, a film launch at Manchester Town Hall and at Maggie's centre for a fundraising event for Didsbury Arts Festival. Amy plays a mixture of light Classical, Pop songs, Romantic Jazz standards, numbers from musicals and Latin songs (Bossa Novas and Sambas etc) and has worked a number of events where specific styles or genres of music have been requested. Amy is very flexible about what she plays and is happy to discuss music that you like and to find the right music for your event.

Los Firuletes were booked for an Argentine Tango dance event for Skipton Tango in the Rendezvous Hotel Ballroom. For our event; for the first set they played classic tango tracks with subtlety and energy and then, at our request, mixed it up with some high energy Nuevo/Neo/Alternative material. Amy and Art absolutely smashed expectations and left an audience of dancers with massive grins on their faces (and demands for me to book them again - which I definitely intend to! My Mum, sisters and I would like to thank Amy for playing her classical guitar so beautifully at Dad's funeral. Dad used to make guitars for us to play and it was a very memorable period of his life. Amy brought that era back into our minds during the service and we are so pleased with our decision to ask for a live performance and particularly so that Amy provided that for us so professionally.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I understand that organising events can be tricky and plans do change, as long as you give me as much notice as possible I'll be able to accommodate any changes.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

No

How much time do you need to set up?

I would like access to the area I'll be playing at least half an hour before I start playing, to make sure I'm set up and ready for the start of your event.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes, of course. I'm happy to make alterations and the more you tell me about the music you like, the more I can ensure the music is right for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, I bring all the music equipment that I need.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

I have a large and varied repertoire and I have a lot of popular requests already on my lists. If there is something specific that you would like and I don't already have it, please ask and for a fee I'll be able to include it and make your event as personal as possible and something you wont forget!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My choice of repertoire is usually a talking point as people often come up to talk about a song I've just played and tell me how much it means to them.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Didsbury House Hotel, Maggies Centre, Northern Quarter Restaurant, Manchester Town Hall.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I love classical guitar as that's my main instrument, but I was brought up on pop, jazz and folk music and I love playing this music too. I am a huge fan of music from Latin American and play music from Brazil, Argentina and all over South America. Although audiences might not recognise this music, it always makes people smile and even dance!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I performed a Piazzolla Tango concerto at Royal Northern College of Music in a public concert.
