Originally from Gloucestershire, Amelia started learning the violin at the age of 4 with Caroline Lumsden at Beauchamp House. Now living in London, she is a freelance violinist with a varied career. She is co-leader of Orchestra of the Swan and performs regularly with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra as well as London Mozart Players and Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Amelia loves all kinds of music and has played at Glastonbury, Two Thousand Trees and Arctangent Festivals with the band Human Pyramids, and at the National Theatre, Barbican Pit Theatre and Little Angel Theatre as the solo violinist for Matthew Robins’ improvised puppet shows. Amelia is passionate about the power of music and as part of Arco Duo performs concerts in care homes and hospitals around the country.
