Allan Yn Y Fan is renowned as one of Wales’ finest concert and twmpath bands. The band has released six acclaimed albums on the Steam Pie label and has been touring internationally since 2002. Allan Yn Y Fan has performed at prestigious festivals such as Celtic Connections, Great British Folk Festival and the Llangollen International Eisteddfod. When performing for a twmpath dawns (or ceilidh) our experience counts! We have provided this service for weddings, wedding anniversaries and birthday celebrants ranging in age from 21 to 80 and for special events. Our corporate work has included an Australian financial services company's offshore conference in Cardiff Castle and providing music for delegates to the ESTNET awards event at Wales Millennium Centre. We’re just as happy playing in village halls and schools as in theatres and festivals, acoustic or with a PA system. We want our performances to be socially inclusive and suitable for all ages, so are more than willing to organise a relaxed performance to suit individual needs. Booked for a surprise birthday party last month, Very impressed with communication beforehand and during the event. Left them to pick the set and dances for a mixed ability group from regular Ceilidh dancers and rank first timers. Everyone had a fab time. clear calls and demonstrations and not fazed when half went right when should have gone left! Would use again.

Customer questions

Can you perform covers?

No, we don't perform covers. We play traditional songs & music, including some of our own tunes

Do you have different line-up options?

The concert line-up is six musicians. The ceilidh line-up can be five or six

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try to be as flexible as possible. Just let us know in advance.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We are able to play an iPod through our PA system. Talk to us beforehand to discuss.

How much time do you need to set up?

We normally need around an hour set up time.

Do you provide a caller?

Yes we do. Our caller is part of the band - and does a very good job too. We can also provide a Welsh language caller for Welsh or bi-lingual ceilidhs (or twmpaths as we call them in Wales)

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

For concerts we have a fixed set / sets For ceilidh's we generally select the dances to suit the event and the ability of the dancers, though we can accommodate requests. If you have anything particular in mind contact us before the event so we can see if we can sort something out

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA) included in your quote?

For ceilidh's the cost of the PA is included (though we don't travel with a lighting rig) For concert spots at festivals and venues we provide technical requirement & a stage plan.
