Alix Mills

I come from a background of professional entertainers...my father Allan Mills (new faces runner up 1976 and professional comedian/singer for 50 years) and mother Jackie Mills (professional dancer, trained at The Arts Educational school in London, performed with the Royal Ballet and worked internationally until I was born) so a career in show-business always seemed natural to me. I also attended Arts Ed (Tring) when I was 14 with a view to a career in musical theatre but, unfortunately, a serious back injury brought me home after just one term and an 18 month recovery began. I then attended the local college and achieved an A grade on my GSCE and AS level dance along with a Distinction in a BTEC National diploma in Performing Arts. Following that I took a couple of years out to try normal jobs but by the age of 24 couldn't ignore my desire to perform any longer, so I joined a local rock covers band, produced a demo for my solo work, bought a PA system and set about a career as a vocalist. I enjoyed success all around the UK and abroad, as a solo vocalist, was on the books of 6 national agents and performed around 150 gigs a year from 2004 until starting a family in 2011. My twins became my sole focus until I was asked to join a local originals band, which was great fun, but I soon discovered that singing 'just for fun' wouldn't ever be enough for me and began searching for like-minded musicians to take it seriously again. It took me nearly two years, during which time I kept my vocal chords working with pub band 'Half Price Drinks' but I have finally found the right group of guys to work with and my function band 'PentaTonic' was born in 2017.
